How Do I Determine What Is Ethical for Me?
Presented by Dan McLean Jr
Determining what is ethical can be a complex and subjective process, and ethical considerations may vary depending on cultural & social pushes & pulls and on personal beliefs.
My proposal is not that we talk about how OTHER people make their ethical decisions. It’s that each of us speak for ourselves and how WE decide on ethical issues.
My intention is to try to keep the conversation on track with occasional reminders so that everyone talks about THEMSELVES. Obviously, I will not force the issue.
How do you consider the impact of your actions on others?
How do you evaluate the consequences for yourself?
How does empathy come into play for you?
Are there times when you choose to disobey laws and regulations?
Do you refer to existing ethical frameworks such as utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics, or care ethics?
