In the past year or so in the United States States, there have been instances where laws and policies have been proposed or implemented that disproportionately affect drag performers (such as threats of violence at public libraries for children's storytime) and the LGBTQ+ community.

For example, some states and cities have attempted to implement dress codes and grooming standards that require individuals to conform to traditional gender norms. These types of policies can make it difficult for drag performers to express their gender identity and can be used to target and discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community.

In addition, there have been instances where bars and other venues that feature drag shows have been subject to zoning restrictions, noise ordinances, and other regulations that make it more difficult for them to operate. These types of regulations can be used to target and shut down LGBTQ+ spaces and can be a form of discrimination.

Furthermore, some states have enacted so-called "religious freedom" laws that allow individuals and businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people based on their religious beliefs. These types of laws can be used to justify discrimination against drag performers and the LGBTQ+ community more broadly.

Overall, while there are no specific "anti-drag queen laws" in the United States, there have been numerous attempts to discriminate against and marginalize the LGBTQ+ community, including drag performers. It is important to recognize and resist these efforts to ensure that everyone is able to live their lives free from discrimination and oppression.

What other human rights and freedoms are under attack in the US?
Don't say Gay in Florida, now extended from K-3 to grade 12.

Anything else folks want to add to the list?

Let's discuss!
